I found more information! It took a while, but I found a bunch of reputable sources of information on Dr. Bath. I listed all of the links in my blogroll.
I emailed Patricia Bath. It was not hard to find her email address because she has her own web page. I really hope she emails me back! The more I learn about her, the more I see that she has done SO MANY amazing things!
I’ve found many scholarly web pages to help me in my research, but not 7! I still need two or three more resources to meet the quota…
So I emailed the librarian and told her I was doing my project on Patricia Bath. She referred me to several great web pages, including Patricia’s own web page. I explained how even though I live in Corvallis, I work two part time jobs so it’s hard to get to the library. With this in mind, she directed me toward these websites. Oddly enough- the librarian who wrote me back was from the Cascades campus. I thought that was kind of funny. Anyway, this was great because now I have tons of resources!
I have decided to do my project on Patricia Bath. Ms. Bath is an African American who invented many ocular devices that gives vision to some people who would otherwise be blind. She is the first African American Woman Doctor Inventor to patent a medical invention.
Week 2’s instructions for the blog were much more difficult than week 1’s. I had a lot of trouble, and I read and re-read the instructions. I hope I got everything that I was supposed to and I hope I didn’t leave anything out! A note to everyone- in the forums, my name has changed. I got married in April, and I recently changed my name through OSU, so although my previous posts said Stacy Brogan, they will now say Stacy Wilwert (my married name). However, my ONID email and my Word Press information will all stay the same. Thanks!
